We’re within easy walking distance of the Kimmel Cultural Campus, the Bellevue Hotel, Crystal Tea Room, City Hall, The Lucy, the Academy of Music, the Arts Ballroom, and more.

A Small, Historic Philadelphia Wedding Venue

Originally home to the New Century Guild—one of the first organizations in the United States to advocate and help advance the careers of working women—Guild House Hotel is more than just a boutique destination—it’s a story. A story of progress, purpose, and people coming together. Founded in 1882 by Eliza Sproat Turner, a writer, educator, abolitionist, and suffragist, the Guild was a refuge, social venue, and a place of growth for generations of women.

Today, that same spirit of welcome and empowerment is woven into every corner of Guild House. It’s a place that feels intimate yet expansive, refined yet personal—perfect for couples who want a wedding day that’s as meaningful as it is beautiful.

Our Lounge

Elegant and intimate, our lounge seats up to 25 guests, and can be arranged to comfortably and beautifully accommodate a ceremony, a rehearsal dinner, a reception or a cocktail party. Our small wedding venue welcomes offsite caterers, bartenders and florists—either from our partner vendors or insured vendors of your choice—and are happy to help facilitate any wedding and party arrangements at your request.

Our Rooms & Suites

Not only do our 12 distinctive guestrooms accommodate up to 28 of your friends and family, but our expansive Alice suite—a sprawling split-level with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious living room, and a well-stocked kitchenette—makes for the perfect bridal suite. And when you “book the house” for your event, our custom portal will allow your guests to choose and reserve their preferred room.

I got married last weekend and my partner and I stayed in the Alice the night before and after our wedding. A few of my friends also stayed in other rooms. We had an incredible time! I’m from Philly so I’ve never had an excuse to book a room at the Guild House before, but I’ve wanted to for a while, and our experience far exceeded my excitement and expectations!!! The hotel is gorgeous and unique, service was incredible, and we felt so comfortable and had plenty of space to get ready. Thanks again to the amazing staff! We’ll definitely be back.

My family stayed here during our wedding weekend and it was the best decision we could have made. Communication, hospitality, and style all top notch. Each room was even more beautiful than the last. We are so grateful to Scott for helping facilitate a smooth experience and Maria was incredibly attentive to our guests as well.

We booked the Alice Suite to get ready for our wedding. Our experience was above and beyond our expectations! There was plenty of room for our hair and makeup artist to work. Since it was raining, our photographer took most of our photos in the incredibly-decorated suite! Our friends and family stopped by and indulged in snacks that we put out. There was plenty of space. Our friend’s baby even hung out in the suite with his grandparents while his parents attended our wedding. Overall, we really can’t recommend Guild House enough. They made our wedding prep much smoother.
