The Martha — one of our romantic, quaint fourth-floor rooms — is named for Martha Earle, an aspiring journalist who was the editor of the Guild’s newspaper from 1896 to 1903. The suite’s parchment-white walls are trimmed in inky black, like the stroke of a pen on the page — a tribute to Martha’s passion for the written word. Meantime, rich jewel tones and soft, luxurious fabrics make for a calming, cozy retreat.
