When it comes to selecting your bridal suite—you know, the spot where you’ll get ready for your wedding in the morning and sleep away the revelry come night—now is not the time to cut corners.

“This is where the fun of reminiscing about the first dance, your guests, and all those wonderful memories begins,” says destination event planner Guerdy Abraira. “You want the right setting, so splurge away.”

So what makes a suite worth the splurge? Per Abraira, beyond luxury, comfort, and (if you can get it) a nice view, there are also certain logistical things to consider. You’ll want ample room for your wedding party to spread out, outlets in several different areas for hair and makeup artists to plug in their tools, a kitchenette for keeping drinks and snacks cool, and separate sleeping quarters so your bed area can stay an oasis of calm. Ideally, your sweet will have a balcony for folks to retreat to for a bit of fresh air or to take a private phone call during the exciting morning.

It’s a lot of ground to cover in just one room, but our roundup of stand-out bridal suites more than gets the job done. Read on for a look at 11 of the most jaw-dropping pre-wedding and wedding night accommodations in the U.S. and beyond.

The Guild House Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Feminist couples will be happy to know that Philly’s newest high-design boutique hotel was brought to life by a female-led interior firm and is situated in a historic building that once housed New Century Guild, a women’s club that offered safe spaces to suffragists, activists, artists, and more. All of the suites at Guild House are named after New Century Guild members, with The Alice—Guild House’s largest suite at 1,000 square feet—named for Dr. Alice Norton, who oversaw the club’s musical and theater productions. (Hence its rock ‘n’ roll vibes!) With a large living space, a kitchenette, and two full bedrooms and bathrooms, it will give you and your future spouse the option to dress separately before coming together in the common area. (An ideal approach for couples who wish to share the day from start to finish!) An “invisible service” concierge, along with the ability to rent out all of the hotel’s twelve rooms, ensures privacy and intimacy ahead of your wedding.
